Fassika Fikre was born in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. He attended Cathedral school for elementary studies and Lincoln international school of Uganda for his high school in Kampala Uganda. He left to Ottawa, Canada to pursue higher education. He received my BEng in Aerospace Engineering from Carleton University. He worked in the aerospace field in Canada in various roles such as project management, robotics systems, quality management, technical support and customer relations. I also worked as a research engineer at Carleton University’s mechanical and aerospace department mainly on control systems and system integration for supercritical water nuclear reactor test loops.

In 2012, he decided to move to Ethiopia. In Ethiopia, he established a renewable energy business that works to provide affordable solar energy systems. Furthermore, he co-founded and is the chief technology officer of a social enterprise named Maisha Technologies.”
