Social enterprise is a growing sector in Ethiopia, with women and youth playing an increasingly prominent role. The sector is providing new alternatives and demonstrating that profit-making can go hand-in-hand with social and environmental impact as well as innovative and sustainable solutions.
The idea that a business or an enterprise can be a force for social good and development, applying the power of business not only to create jobs but also tackle some of our most entrenched social and environmental issues, is gaining huge traction.
Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF) was established in 2008 by national social enterprise support agencies seeking a means to advance social enterprise development globally.
Social Enterprise is a project designed to support underserved populations to access social protection, health, education and jobs, and in doing so help foster inclusive and sustainable growth for human development.
